Yashodhara Raje Scindia likely to be BJP candidate from Gwalior Lok Sabha seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is considering fielding Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the former Cabinet Minister and daughter of late RAJMATA Scindia, from the Gwalior Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming general elections.

This comes just two days before Union Home Minister and top BJP leader Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Gwalior. On friday, BJP's chief strategist in Madhya Pradesh, Suresh Soni, met with Yashodhara Raje Scindia and the two held a long discussion.

Sources said that the BJP is keen to field a strong candidate from Gwalior, which is considered to be a prestigious seat. The party had won the seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia is a popular figure in Gwalior and has a strong following in the region. She is also seen as a potential vote-catcher for the BJP.

However, the BJP is also considering other candidates for the Gwalior seat, including former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and state minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

The final decision on the BJP's candidate for Gwalior Lok Sabha seat will be taken by the party's central leadership.
